I’m a BACP registered therapist and although the majority of my clients range in age from 7 to 70, for over 20 years now I also have been working alongside Educators in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in society and their families.
A 2023 study published by MH England found that 20.3% of 8-16 year olds had a probable MH disorder.
That’s 1 in every 5.
CAMHS waiting lists are at an all time high. The mainstream education system is often failing SEN children. Schools and parents are pushed to their limits.
The Smart Collaborative exists because my work has never been just about the Counselling. Our ethos is centred around empowering individuals to take ownership of and have agency over their emotional health and ongoing self-development. Personal growth is ALWAYS possible and The Smart Collaborative exists to support you with this.
I believe that we need to get better in the UK at educating EVERYONE about the impact that mental health and emotional wellbeing can have on everything - from our behaviour and progress in school - through to our relationships and experiences as adults.
